Member check up I inspected the inside of the outside system, tested the HVAC system in both modes. The drain line was backed up due to algae coming from the evaporator coil. I was able to freed up and treat the drain line flushing. It was over a gallon of water. I did check both safety switches and show the customer. The algae growth that’s obstructing the drain line. We quoted a ducst system last time I was out due to the collapsing supply, and return Plenum. Today inspection shows the supply and return Plenum or worse off than last time. The sealer and tape are coming apart is the return Plenum is collapsing. This is allowing outside, unconditioned air to enter the system, adding to the filth that is supplying the algae growth. I rinse the outside unit and tested it. The system has a heat rise of 60 in a cooling split of 22. The system functions are on target and is ready for the winter. System is leaking I arrived and spoke with the homeowner, and he let me know that the drain line was not filled with water however, condensation was coming down from the middle of the coil. I opened up the unit and found the main drain pan underneath. The coil has been completely taken over with algae. This is caused the drain pan to overfill and fall into the return cavity. I noticed that airflow was set to home for the system, and I was able to lower it achieving a greater cooling split. System is cooling with a 17° split. Upon finding the obstruction, I verbally gave repair costs, so I can clean it out right then. However, homeowner said he will take care of yourself, and I only charge them the dispatch fee. I will still make other recommendations from what I have seen on inspection. Collected $55 for today’s visit
