Air Filters: When Should You Check Them?

Check your air filter every time you get your electric bill. Many filters you buy in the store will claim to last 3 or 6 months...don’t believe it!

Once you learn the tendencies of the dust in your house, you can adjust how often you check. 30-40% of insufficient cooling calls can be contributed to dirty filters or dirty coils (which is accelerated by having a dirty filter).

Air Filters: Pleated or Not?

Pleated filters are good if you maintain a very clean filter. However, once pleated filters get slightly dirty, they can cause air-flow problems.
